I read quite a few comments about the ‘bad boy’ Vista. Having used it for 18 months as a ‘normal user without super technical skills’ I have to say that I find it a very good operating system IF I USE IT AS IT HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO BE USED and I do not set out to modify it to ‘my ways’. Sure I have had the odd hiccup but in each case I reckon that its me that’s hiccupped it. I am sure that problems occur but I am also sure that most are self-inflicted.
I guess that I have now made some enemies out there … but also maybe some friends.
Oh and can I add that I am very grateful to Woody moderators etc for their professional advice that has guided me through the maze from time to time.

Well said, Ron. You seem to be one of the growing majority that realize Vista is not the same as XP; it is far superior in many ways, although not all. Your statement that most people experiencing issues with Vista are the authors of their own misfortune is quite right. Learn the new OS before getting fancy with it, folks. Don’t assume that Vista is only XP, the sequel. I think there are many in the lounge that feel the same way and can and do lend a helping hand.

Thanks for the good words about Loungers Ron, be they Mods, WMVPs or all the other countless Loungers who try to help ONE ANOTHER!

I’m glad to hear that your Vista experience is turning out well, as is mine. I’ve “only” been using the OS since last May but have not had ANY major problems. The worst thing I’ve had to learn to deal with is the increased “security” of Vista but that has not been a big deal.
