Have a friend who no longer has access to the application, but has a Project 98 file that he needs printed. He sent to me (I have 2000), but it won’t let me open it. Get error message that it can not open because of the version. Can anyone recommend anything so that I can get printed for him?

Could you please provide a complete description of the error message so we can determine what is happening. You should be able to open the file.

Thanks. Able to get another version. One file with .mpp extension gets the first error message, the one with .mpx extension gets the second message. I will send 2nd file in separate file.

A couple of things that might help.

          – Copy the files to your local drive if you currently have them on a network and try opening them again. There are some issues with this if you are running Windows 98 on a network or with novell and you try to open the files stored on a network.

          – If the above doesn’t work, are you sure that the files are 98 files as 2000 can’t open files prior to 98. If the files are earlier then 98, then you will need to find a copy of 98 to open the files and re-save them so 2000 can open it.

          – I believe I have a copy of 98 running somewhere as well as 2000. If you want, you can zip the file and post it here or send it to me. I can open it in 98, re-save it and post it back so you can open it in 2000 for printing.
