    Greetings,

I have an Older HardDrive that I would like to view the Registery. I do not have the option of using this as the Boot drive, so any suggestions? Do I have to make this a boot drive?

    Thanks,
    Brad

I’m not sure I understand your question. What is it you want to do with the old hard drive? You don’t have to install a drive as the boot drive, but what does this have to do with the “Registry” (are you talking about the Windows Registry?)…

I would like to view the “windows registry” on the old drive.

similar to regedit on the boot drive.

I’ve used MiTeC Windows Registry File Viewer for this. Does the job well and is free.

Regedit is a Windows program to view and edit the Registry and it doesn’t have anything to do with additional drives. Windows is normally installed on the boot drive. Perhaps if you would say what it is that you’re hoping to find or do and why/what that has to do with an additional drive, please?

If the drive was a boot drive in another life, and has now been added as an additional drive to another pc, it would have the registry from its previous installation on it, no? smile
