    Hello.

Using techniques shown at http://allenbrowne.com/ser-50.html%5B/url%5D I have a mult-select listbox that passes selected values to the query for a report.

My issue is that the listbox is SOOOOO long that users have to scroll up and down too far.

Is it possible to have the list box spill over horizontally sort of like the START >PROGRAMS list does (in windows XP at least). or some other trick.

    Thanks

    Jason

Although a list box can have multiple columns, they are used to display different fields, not to accommodate very long lists.

You could break the selection process into steps, along the lines of How to Synchronize Two Combo Boxes on a Form. The technique described there works for list boxes too.

        Thank Hans.

If I were to create say 4 list boxes. Each to display 25 items.
How could I tweak the list box row source property to do that
        and
How could the allenbrowne code be tweaked to pass any and all values selected in any and all of the textboxes to the report query?

        Thanks.

I wouldn’t do it like that, it’s bad interface design.

If you’ve got about 100 items, that’s not too bad – users should be able to select items from a single list box. I thought you were dealing with many thousands of items.
