An e-mail was sent by the same sender to two home computers, both running Outlook 2003. When I drag the vCard to my Contacts and create a new contact, the Notes field is there. When DB opens the v-card from the e-mail the Notes are there, but when he drags it to his contacts they don’t carry over. Any idea why? I’ve tried searching/googling and can’t locate an explanation.
Thanks for any help you can offer us.

AskWoody LoungerJuly 11, 2008 at 12:41 pm #1116773Hmmm – according to MVP Sue Mosher the Notes field isn’t supported at all in vCards in Outlook 2003… (see Outlook 2003 vcard notes).

AskWoody MVPJuly 14, 2008 at 1:36 am #1116979See the “How to distribute a Vcard” section in How to use the vCard feature in Outlook. Notes can be preserved if the Vcard is a file and not part of the signature.
However, I don’t know if this clarifies or confuses the OP.

AskWoody LoungerJuly 17, 2008 at 2:34 am #1117442Thanks for the information, Joe, but I couldn’t make it work. The instructions say:
You can distribute a vCard file as you distribute any other computer file. To do this:
1. Open a new message and address it to the recipient.
2. On the Insert menu, click File.
3. Click to select a vCard (.vcf) file, and then click OK.
NOTE: If you want to include Notes with your vCard, you must insert the .vcf file. If the .vcf is attached to your signature, the Notes field (and other fields) are removed prior from the vCard.
The problem is, when I go to the Insert, File dialog box, there is no .vcf option in the files of type area. I did try Insert, Item and was able to insert a contact that way. The notes came with it here in the office, but I’ll need to send it to someone else that way and see if they go with it then.
Thanks again for the suggestion.
