Can anyone tell me where to get the update for Office 2000 VBA question
I have looked at my Office 2000 VBE About and it shows I have VBA Retail 6.3.8863 on my machine, but someone else only has 6.0.8714, but both show as Access 2000 SR1
Just to confuse me even more, when I look at the About for VB SP5, it’s VBA 6.0.8964 confused

Do you have any 2002 components on your machine–Visio, Publisher, FrontPage, etc.? That would account for the difference if you do. All the 2002 apps install an updated version of vba6.dll and that’s what your Office 2000 components have to use after that.

I think you hit the nail there Charlotte, as I’ve recently put a copy of Visio 2002 on my machine yep
Next question, is there any other way, apart from installing an Office XP application, of updating someones VBA question

I’ve got a problem with an Access 2000 database of mine generating an error 3071, “expression is typed incorrectly or too complex”, on someone else’s machine, actually via Citrix on NT4 Terminal Server, which doesn’t appear on mine, stand-alone Win2000, and the first thing I spotted that was different was the VBA.

grovel Could you move this thread over to Access please grovel

Two versions of Office cannot fully co-exist in th esame bootable system.

This is the type of problem one encounters mixing versions of Office.

Since this thread really didn’t start out Access-specific, I’m going to leave it here instead of moving it. I would suggest you post your specific question directly to the Access forum as a new thread.

VBA Retail 6.3.8863 is in Office XP, not Office 2000.

VB SP 5 does include a different version of VBA.
VB SP 5 also includes different versions of other things, e.g., Visual Source SAfe is version 6.0a in VB 6 SP 5, but becomes version 6.0b after installing Office XP Developer Edition.
