I am taking over the maintenance of a database. It is fairly straightforward, a membership database and was originally done in Access 2000. Since I don’t have 2000, the last administrator saved it as Access 97 and all seems to work fine…except for the TRIM function. In many of the reports and mailing labels, she had used trim, such as in the following:
=Trim([FirstName] & ” ” & [LastName])
When I try to run the report, I get a parameter query box asking for the Trim value. I don’t enter anything, (don’t know what to enter) then get errors in the report.
When I take out the word Trim from the expression, the report appears to run OK.
I know I have used Trim in Access 97, what could be causing the problem? Thanks for any help.
