OK.  This is mainly a curiosity question.  When using either “Rufus” or the “MCT Wrapper+Script” why are the versions downloaded not the last version(build) ?

    See images (if logged in).

It seems that the ones that you get are sorta “middle of the deck” (not the first or last release for any given version) of Windows 10.  Granted, maybe this doesn’t matter at all.

Remember Microsoft has to build these each time, so what they do is build one on a good/known release and then they know that windows update will bring it up to date.

      Microsoft doesn’t continually make ISOs.
The ISO available for download is an ISO of the current version.
The ISO available is for the current version of Windows, but not necessarily the current Build.
Usually there is a new ISO created when a new version is released. After that, there may be another 2-3 ISOs created at various times during the life to the current version.
When you use the MCT or Rufus to download the ISO and create the install media, you get the latest ISO of the current version, but it may not be the current Build. It may be an earlier Build that has to be updated after the install.

If you do the install connected to the Internet, you can choose to include updates during the install. If you do the install offline, you will need to update to the current Build after connecting to the Internet.

      Thanks folks.  Good explanation.

Follow-up:  Where do these ISOs come from?  Directly from MS or some other server where they’ve been saved?

Directly from MS (it says so on the MCT wrapper too).
