I would like to know how I can insert Hat P Formula in Word (^P) i.e I need the ^ above the P

    the full formula is below.

^p1 = D1/(Rs-g). I would also prefer to have a line under D1 and have Rs-s below D1 after the line

Please advise how i can do this in Word

Your assistance will be most appreciated

    regards

You can use an { ADVANCE } field to put the ^ character above the P character. This can be a bit tricky since you need to specify the exact amount of space to move the characters and this depends on the font size.

You can use Microsoft Equation Editor to create your equation.

The attached word document includes examples of how to do this with both of these. Use Alt-F9 to display the field codes (and Alt-F9 again to display the results).

      Hi Stuart

Thanks for the help. How do I use the Equation Editor to set up a formula such as this

I need one small favour, I need the 1 after ^P to be in subscript as well as the 1 after D1 to be in subscript

Your assistance will be most appreciated

      Regards

      Hi Howard,

Another way, without invoking the Equation Editor, is to use an equation field, which you could code as: {EQ o (^,P1) = s(f(D1,(Rs-g)))}. To get the exact layout you want, you’ll need to modify the font attributes of some characters. See attached.
