I have a Win10 Pro frozen at version 19042. I know from experience (and expensive recovery) and confirmed from my manufacturer DELL. that the very next update from Microsoft would turn my 7 core PC into a boat anchor. My hardware is incompatible with Win10Pro beyond this version,  I have successfully used 3rd party software to fend off any further Microsoft attempts to update.

Question: If I run DSIM can I keep it from updating any file in my OS to a newer version  of itself, as opposed to using what’s already on my system as spares to replace with?

I’m very happy with this PC as is (meets my needs), but if Microsoft wasn’t endangering my PC with it’s updates then today I would want to run DSIM for system health (at my current level) to possibly find some cobwebs.

I would download WUMgr, fire it up, click on the Auto Update tab and select Disable Automatic Update.

Then download GRC InControl and set the Windows version to 10 20H2.

You can also use Group Policy to do this.

      cheers, Paul

p.s. I would update to W10 22H2 before stopping updates.

22H2 is version 19045 – according to this, it is not compatible.

pps. Instead of attaching a PDF, use a screenshot (png) or paste the text. Saves us having to download and open extra files.

      cheers, Paul
