When I click on the BACK button on a web page, it does not retain the information I entered on it. The website folks are telling me it is a computer issue, but I don’t know what the problem is. Example: I type in a name and address on a page, go to the next page. I need to make a change to the previously entered info so I use the back button to edit, but the information I entered is not there and I have to redo it all. Any suggestions?

If this is a form that is being filled in on line, then it is under the control of the webmaster. Some forms can NOT be changed once you have left that section and MUST continue.

I would contact the webmaster or some one from that site and ask how one corrects errors made on the in put forms.

The site should hold the info–I have 2 computer, both Windows XP, IE6 and it works on one but not the other so I think it must be some setting but I don’t know what it is. I contacted the site and they said it “should” work but wouldn’t give any further assistance.

Take a look at your cache (Temporary Internet Files) settings. On this Lounge, we recommend refreshing on every visit to a page, but if you prefer not to always refresh — which might be the problem with the other site — try the radio button that says “Automatic.” (Sorry this is cryptic, but I’m using Firefox so I can’t just pop open IE’s Tools>Internet Options… dialog at the moment.)
