• Using a newly installed font

I downloaded and installed a new TTF font to my font directory. However when I try to use that font in Word or Publisher the font appears in the font drop down window in the tool bar and under Format>Font menu, but does not appear in the document. As soon as I type in the document it defaults to the default font, e.g. Time Roman.

What do you mean by “installed” ? Did you run the Font Installer app as in this screenshot?

Yes, that is exactly what I did – used the font installer.

Jim, I’m trying to “guess” whether you have an XP or Office problem. Do you have another program that allows you to select fonts, not an Office product? I really don’t think the problem is with XP but I can’t be sure at this point.

I think it is possible that there is a problem with the font itself.
Where did you download it from?
Do you know anyone who has used this font successfully?

The font was sent to me by a graphics designer who designed a logo and tag line for me.
I am trying to think of a non-Office program I can try it with. Maybe Adobe Photoshop?
