Hi. I am having problems with User Accounts.

My computer is a stand alone. I have an administrator account for myself. I wanted to create another account for my brother but encountered a problem. I can create another account but when I try to switch users I am unable. The error message is “Windows cannot log you on because your profile cannot be loaded …”

What is going on and how do I fix it?

Hi Cowboy. The Detail is ‘The system cannot find the file specified.’ I hope this tells you something and you know the solution.

Try logging OUT and then logging in using the new account and password. The switch user may be turned OFF. If this will not word, log back in using the current account, delete the new account and select the files option when asked. Then make the new account, log off, and then try logging in with the new account again.

Thanks everyone. It seems that if I create a new administrator account (in contrast to a limited account), the problem is solved.
