I have found that most are just about same, find one that fits your bank account (price).

When Fry’s opened here in WA, we pick up 2 “256 meg” sticks for $39 each.

Just make sure that they are USB 2.0.

Where is this place!? Is Fry’s the full name?
I haven’t found 256meg sticks anywhere close to that price.

It was their Grand Opening here in Renton, so the price I got ours for was that day only.
Check out http://www.frys.com/%5B/url%5D for a store near you. They also are at http://www.outpost.com/%5B/url%5D for online shopping.

Since Hetty alleges she lives in London, the nearest Fry’s is probably 5,000 miles away!

The only Fry’s in the UK used to be a long-since-taken-over chocolate manufacturer, whose most famous brand was Fry’s “Five Boys”.

There we are – a mixture of education and nostalgia!

But Bill who asked where Fry’s is, is from Pennsylvania.

I take great exception to your claim that Fry’s most famous product was Five Boys, I’m sure it was Fry’s Turkish Delight, but I’m amazed that a quick google shows you can still buy it.

You may have a point, but do you agree with their statement that:

The Fry’s Turkish Delight bar is popular with slimmers, containing less than 8% fat (under 4g per bar)

That may be true — but just how much sugar does it contain, which is hardly good for slimming?

[Maybe we’ve gone too far away from USB memory disks …!]

Most slimmer’s I know would say that cream cakes are popular with them too – they just exercise self control.

Can you get a cream cake in a memory stick?

Alleges? Isn’t what they have to say on Have I got News for you or in Private Eye? smile I hope we don’t need to use it in the Lounge

But a belated thanks to everyone for their advice. (Just spent a week in Scotland and it’s my first day back)

Although I’m deeply unhappy with the service from Scan they do do cheap USB PenDrives, either in the “Today” offers (about once a fortnight) or all the time, at a few pounds more, in the Hard Drives category in the top box, about half way down the resulting page. Beware the courier/postage charge, though…

There are so many available, try Dabs or Simply, or look through the back pages of Personal Computer World, or other inferior UK computer mags.
