I’ve had a Logitech USB headset for quite some time, and it worked great, but with a recent Windows 10 update the microphone no longer works and I had to switch the Input to my web-cam’s mic or the laptop’s built-in microphone.
One of the symptoms is when I first start my laptop the headset behaves like a singer’s monitor – I can hear everything the headset microphone is picking up in the headset. If I unplug the USB then plug it back in this goes away.
In Sound Settings, under Input when I choose the headset “Microphone (4-Realtek USB Audio)” the Test your microphone bar shows nothing. When I switch it to one of the other microphones it shows the blue level bar that it is picking up sound.
Troubleshoot button doesn’t actually go through a troubleshooter – just a generic MS page on troubleshooting sound with no relevant help.
Manage sound devices only gives me the option to disable one or more microphones.
Device Properties doesn’t have anything useful either.
Any suggestions? Windows 10 build 19042.746
