Having problems with my PIII 550E computer. I have just put an EPOX motherborad (EP-3VSA2) in to my computer and have put in 1 Gig of RAM (2 x 512 Mb sticks) and when you load ME it loads to a grey screen and stops responding. When you press Ctrl+Alt+Del the program MSGSRV32 has stopped responding. Both the sticks of RAM are fine and when I try different combinations (1 x 512 + 2 x 256 etc) I get the same thing. It works fine if I put in 786 Mb (1 x 512 + 1 x 256). The board is capable of taking up to 1.5 Gig of RAM reliably. Could this be a problem with ME not liking so much RAM or what? Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers

    Aron

      Hi aron
What screen messages do you get with each configuration of memory installed and before WIndows starts?

Is the total RAM inserted accounted for?

If the machine boots successfully have you tried starting in safe mode? or other mode by pressing CTRL key during start up?

What size of Windows swap file do you have?

How big is the hard drive?
