The networking group has updated several computers from 97 to 2003. I am in the process of converting my databases. I have one user who gets this error message when she opens access 2003. “Can’t find the database you specified, or you didn’t specifiy a database at all” and then she only gets 3 options at the top. I need to know what to do to get her databases to open.

    Thanks…

I checked Microsofts website and it stated something about having 97 still on the machine. She has one database that is working correctly so I do not understand why she is getting the error message. She opens the database from her network drive not through access.

      Any help would be appreciated.

I think I figured it out. The reason one database is working is because it is menu driven. Access run-time uses menus for the user to add records, print etc..they are not allowed to get to the database window. Apparently, she only has run-time loaded and not the full version.

If anybody has any other ideas, please let me know.

I’d try Help | Detect and Repair first.
If that doesn’t solve the problem, uninstall Office 2003 completely, then reinstall it.
