On my Pc2 WXpHE upgraded all oK from W98 – in fact it’s excellent. I left W98 on the HDD. Two comments: processor is AMD500 and HDD was upgraded before Windows up/g to a 20Gb.

So you were able to partition the HD and install in an empty partition? It wanted to take the whole drive when I tried it, and it took me all afternoon to recover from the “Cancel installation” process. I had to re-install the video driver in the Win98 partition to keep it from phoning home…

Anybody who has details on how to accopmplish this feat, it will be much appreciated!

I am running XP on a 233 P2 and its not that unpleasant an experience. However on my 1Gig P3s its a blast.

I am having a lot of fun with xp. It’s well worth the upgrade. If you don’t mind the hassle of reloading your software and backing up files, etc. a clean install is a good way to go. You will need your win98 cd to prove to xp that you are deserving of the upgrade. It asks you to pop it in during the install. Once you get it up and running, check your various devices websites for driver upgrades. I have gotten significantly increased performance by upgrading the sound card, video, and monitor drivers. XP treats images in a much more efficient way than win9x, and a video driver to take advantage of that can really speed things up. Have fun!!!
