What is the purpose of upgrading 1909 to 2004 if the latest version is 20H2.

Why not go directly to 20H2 ?

Personal preference of not being on the most recent to ensure all issues are identified.

You don’t have three browsers in 2004 by default IIRC, only IE11 and (Old) Edge, whereas 20H2 has:
      IExploder 11,
      (Old) Edge
      (Chredge)Chromium based Edge

that would be good enough reason to go to 2004 over 20H2 for now.
FYI: (Old) Edge will be removed by MSFT in April so probably a good time thereafter to consider moving to 20H2, unless you like having bloat on your PC

Is there a way to completely remove the old Edge from the current 20H2 version?  If not, will it be removed by/with a monthly patch update?  Just curious.  TIA.

          not without integrity violations 🙂

Two questions .. one answer!  But, if no to both, I gather the old Edge “bloat” will be gone with 21H1.

The answer was provided in my previous to last post in this thread, so there was no need to duplicate it 🙂
If not by a patch, how else were MSFT going to remove (old) Edge?

It will be removed with April Patch Tuesday and replace by new Edge.
Or, you can download New Edge manually.

Thanks.  I found some links on the matter, which I tried to post here (blocked as spam 3x), one by ZDNet of 02/05/21 “Microsoft details its legacy Edge browser phase-out strategy”, which I found interesting.

If you are on 20H2, the new Edge won’t be replaced (installed already), only old Edge will be removed.  Makes sense.

There was a recent string of posts advising of Upgrades to 20H2 with No issues, as was my case. If you have a basic system design like mine — AND — MAKE BkUp IMAGES PRIOR — I wouldn’t hesitate as THAT is my experience (I don’t have CU or Feature Upgrade issues) and personality (adventurous IF Prepared for Uh-Oh’s).

You don’t mention IF you have a Conexant Driver issue but there is an Update Now (to 20H2) link in the post below. Use as desired.

The Link is Not going to My Specific Post so Find Post # 2339353 on Feb 1  7:57 am in the Thread.
