Posting 2-work-arounds in case someone does a Search…..

A guy posted in the Mozilla.org Forum that since recent multi-FF Update(s) he Cannot Login to either his FF Account OR Yahoo mail … My related dilemma is …

Via AT&T Hm Pg — https://currently.att.yahoo.com — Mail Link / Clk to Signin … I was offered either My mail Acct — OR — my Wife’s Mail Acct (Her @ bellsouth.net).
NOW in up-dated FF , HER ACCT has Vanished as an offering, and a rare option to enter Her Login data manually is Not Recognized.

DISabling Enhanced Track, uBO, Priv Badger, LocalCDN … still Forces Use of ONLY MY Mail Login, no chance to enter her’s.
I can accept regular FF not wanting discounttire.com Vs discounttiredirect.com, BUT to Remove an entire Option of Login to a Mail Account WITHIN the AT&T site is too weird!!

SAME SITES with — Edge OR TEST PROFILE — ALLOW her Login data and view of Her Mail…..  FYI until a change in std. FF occurs……..

Interesting.  I have had several different mailboxes in the pacbell.net (AT&T) domain for many years.

I had it set up to use Thunderbird as my local client for a long time, and that was connected to only one of the pacbell accounts.  Then I had a problem where Thunderbird corrupted my inbox, losing years of messages.  Fortunately, the messages were still out there on the AT&T server, so  I went over to using web-based email for all the pacbell mailboxes, and stopped using TB last year.

So, now when I go to Yahoo.com, I click on email.  Lastpass looks over my shoulder and asks which account I want to use.  Then, I see what looks like an AT&T log in screen

“Sign in to access AT&T Mail and Currently.com”

Lastpass again offers me the list of mail accounts, I choose one and then it fills in the username and password.   The next screen is the inbox.  I do use uBO and Privacy Badger and DeCentralEyes.

This process works the same on my Chromebook and using FireFox on a Win 10 machine.  I have not tried it with Edge.  Of course I try to keep all the browsers up-to-date.

FWIW, I have trouble sometimes getting my AT&T/Yahoo account to work in FF and this started long before the recent multi-FF updates. Like your wife, my provider is bellsouth.net and like you, I go to currently.att.com {in a FF container}, click to sign in {choosing to open a new tab for it in the same FF container}, and although the tab opens, it just sits there and does nothing.

So, I go to the FF Help tab, go into Trouble Shooting Mode, and RESTART. Then, under the new tab to sign in {still in a FF container and sometimes reloading it}, I see the ATT login screen asking for identifier and password, and giving an option to stay signed in for two weeks. That lets me into my ATT/Yahoo e-mail folder at mail.yahoo.com {still in a FF container}. Then, I turn off the Trouble Shoot Mode. And things work fine after that.

But eventually, I have repeat the process just described, if I have been signed out of my ATT/Yahoo account. If I am still signed into the account, but e-mail is not working, I go to the currently.att.com tab, where I see that I am still signed in. There I click on the e-mail icon to open ANOTHER mail.yahoo.com tab {my same Yahoo e-mail folder in the same FF container} and I get a NEW e-mail tab that works.

I have standard enhanced tracking on (exceptions are at https://signin.att.com and the AskWoody site {at SB’s suggestion to avoid getting spontaneously logged off}).

      My extensions are Cisco Webex, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials, Facebook Container, FF Multi-Account Containers, McAfee Web Advisor, and Yahoo Search, which are all disabled in FF Trouble Shooting Mode, but are brought back to life after turning it off. {However, even if disabled in Trouble-Shooting Mode, FF Multi-Account Containers keeps working.}

In the past, I also had uBlock Origin enabled, mostly to keep spontaneous videos from popping up when I accessed a couple of local news sites, and to keep the ads from popping up in the ATT/Yahoo e-mail Inbox, but I have resorted to disabling uBlock Origin for the time being because I don’t have the patience to fiddle with it to get the ATT/Yahoo site to work well with it enabled. So, like you, I have it permanently disabled right now, with or without Trouble Shooting Mode. But, I don’t see the Yahoo ads in the right-most panel anymore; I think FF has wiped them out, maybe because enhanced tracking protection is not turned off (only turned off at two URLs, mentioned above).

Maybe, you could try some or all of the suggestions here to see if you can log into the ATT/Yahoo e-mail that you haven’t been able to log into.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’m resolved to live with access to her Mail via Test Profile or Edge BUT for fun will keep playing around to see IF – in normal FF – her Account returns as a Login Option now vanished after 106.4 or 5….. THIS is very recent for the FF removal of Her Login option.

I recently had trouble with her Mail Acct and stumbled onto the need to Verify her Email Address in the My AT&T acct Profile module (we have internet-TV-Cell with them) . When done with a code the site generated THAT is when the Option at – Mail / Clk here to Signin – started offering BOTH my Acct AND Hers for login choice. THEN, a recent FF update netted the vanishing act for her..  Ain’t it fun !!

guess that’s why I use Firefox ESR releases on most my PCs (latest FF ESR is 102.4)

and Firefox version 107 will be coming out next week (Nov. 15)
