I have a user who wants to permanently turn off the Reviewing toolbar. It seems to come back each time he starts Word or Excel even though he has turned it off during his last session. Has anyone experienced this and know of a way to disable it unless he specifically turns it back on? I think there may be a correlation to opening email Office attachments. Thanks.

You are not alone. This thread raised the same question, but we didn’t come up with a solution there either. Some sleuthing suggestions, though.

There is a new setting in Outlook 2002 that may be causing it.

Check Tools/Options/Preferences/E-mail Options/Advanced. At the bottom of that dialog box there should be the option to Add Properties to Attachments to Enable Reply With Changes. When I sent an e-mail with a Word doc attached, as soon as I opened it the Track Changes toolbar came on. After deselecting that option, opening the attachment did not display the Track Changes toolbar.

      Hope this helps.

I am having the same problem. However, I checked my email settings and that box was not checked.

        Still looking for a solution.
