Uninstalling programs (XP Pro SP1)

Some programs do not appear in the ‘Add or Remove Programs’ listing because they are marked as ‘hidden’ in a text file that Windows keeps in the Windows or System32 folder. I have opened this file in the past but I cannot remember its name. Can someone remind me what this file is?

I believe you’re thinking of the SYSOC.INF file, which applies only to Windows components – the Add/Remove listing comes from the Uninstall strings located in the registry.
