I like to use Word 2000 with the toolbars undocked on the left of my screen so that I can get maximum vertical height on the document window.

Fine, but recently the undocked toolbars are misbehaiving and appearring in a jumble instead of where I last put them. See graphic.

I am running Windows 2000 SP1, Word 2000 SR1, Outlook 2000 SR1(uses word as its editor, and I know mangles the document window size sometimes)

Any ideas how to stick the toolbars in place for good?

There’s some sample code in the MSKB that seems to be on target at

Of course, after looking further in that particular KB Article, it does the opposite of what you want — Sorry shrug but maybe you could use it as a key to do what you want?

Here’s a thread that has a means of super-gluing toolbars in place after you’ve set them where you want them. The code was tested with toolbars arranged across the top. Should still work with them docked to the left, right, bottom or wherever, I’d think.
