Underline a portion of an Access report print line (Access 2003 / SP1)

I need to underline selected portions of a line on an Access report. Determining what to underline is not the issue: accurately positioning the underline is. Utilizing the Font Underline property of the text box line would underline the whole line.

Even the capabilities of VBA code does not suggest a method of doing this. So I would greatly appreciate some thoughts that I’m not thinking of.

I don’t think this is possible without using third party ActiveX controls like Total Access Memo adds rich text (RTF) memo fields to Microsoft Access or similar.
