Two friends have gotten an error message from the postmaster that an email was undeliverable and then some reference to “unbalanced”. Anyone ever have a similar error message and if so, what do you do?

The only reference to ‘unbalanced’ I came across was here:

Is it possible they have copied an address (or are replying to post) with a missing bracket? e.g.:
John Smith [john.smith@company.com
