    1) Windows Server 2008 Standard > Start > Run > enter “mmc.msc” > message = Microsoft Management Console cannot be found: Shouldn’t the MMC be accessible this way?

    2) Accessing the MMC another way > add Group Policy Snap-in > cannot save console, message = must be logged in a domain user: I’m using W2K8S as a super OS, so how do I add the Snap-in?

1.) Don’t you want to run mmc.exe to run the console?
      2.) Can’t you just run gpedit.msc?

        1) .exe…….the simplest things are oft overlooked – what a bonehead (me)…thanks.
        2) The goal is to shut down the shutdown event tracker, so yes, I guess I could – or should….thank you again.

Joe, are you using W2K8S as a workstation?
