Todaof y I used SKYPE. I had not used it for a long time–probably never on this laptop. I just read that Microsoft recently brought out Skype version 8.61–which I see is installed on my computer as 7/8/20– I also have version 8.39.0.180 (installed 2/12/19). I have both versions on my computer. Should I remove 8.39.0.180? I am also wondering why I have two versions now? I appreciate your comments. Thanks.

      Hello.
Skype version 8.39.0.180 is application from Microsoft Store, which comes preinstalled on your PC. There are also “other mutations” of Skype – such as version that comes with MS Office (Skype for bussiness). Most recent is “standalone installation” from Skype Webpage, which is the latest version. You can download 8.62.0.83 HERE.

First, I recommend to remove all skypes you dont intend to use and then download the latest version from official webpage. It does not matter to have more “versions of skype” on your PC, but it can be confusing. Maybe this will help.
