Does anyone know if there is a TweakUI for Vista, or if one is planned?

    Cheers,

TweakUI is a sort of hobby project of programmers inside Microsoft; there may well be a version for Windows Vista in the works, but I don’t think Microsoft will announce a release date in advance.

There is an “unofficial” version: TweakVI from TotalIdea software. The basic version is free, you’ll have to subscribe for some plugins. Since I don’t have Windows Vista yet, I have no experience with TweakVI.

I have read mixed reviews about TweakVI. Some have reported that it caused serious problems when some of the options where enabled. Others seem to think it is good. So, YMMV and one would be well advised to be cautious in using it.

Good point. It might well be better to wait and see if Microsoft releases a (semi-) official version, even if that may take a while.

      Hi, Paul,
I’ve installed TweakVI on my computer running Windows Vista. So far, I haven’t noticed any problems. Here is the URL:

You ought to check out X-Setup Pro. Version 9.0 is Vista compatible. Note: this software is shareware. See the site for pricing.

Thanks, folks. I was referring to Microsoft’s TweakUI, but I will look into your suggestions.

      Cheers,
