• Turn off Macro Warming (Word 2000)

I want to know if it is possible to turn off the macro warming programatically. I have a macro in a template where I assigned a digital signature. When I open the template Word asks me if I want to enable or disable macro. I want to know if I can add some extra line of code to enable the macro automatically where I don’t have to click on disable or enable. The code will just remove the warming message.

I want to know if it can be done and how?

I’ve often wondered if this is possible as well. If it is possible for me to write code to disable the macro warning, why couldn’t someone else use similar code in a malicious document? I don’t think there is a way, programmatically, around this.

I haven’t done any reading about digital signatures.
      Good luck!

Exactly… it does not make sense that a macro could (or should) be able to disable the warning. The warning is for the benefit of the user (even though it may intimidate or confuse some users) to allow the user (not the programmer) to control the execution of the macro(s).

As far as I know, your only option is to inform the user(s) about the macro so they can choose to execute it, have the user(s) set security to low (thus allowing execution of all macros), or establish your macro template as a “trusted souce.”

Though I have never worked with “trusted sources” or digital signatures, either.
