Im using the latest version of MBAM and its recently started finding Trovi PUPs in all of my systems, in the user profiles of Chrome and Firefox. I quarantine them with MBAM but thy keep showing back up, I think because of the syncing capabilities of chrome and Firefox.
I got Trovi at work, from a clock gadget I downloaded (I even scanned the gadget using Microsoft Forefront first before I installed the gadget and it came back clean). Trovi really never hijacked any of my browsers, maybe because MBAM caught it quickly. But it still populated from work machine to all my personal machines – since this gadget was on only my work machine, I have to believe that the syncing of the browsers transmitted it to all the rest of my machines.
Ive got these browsers on 8 different machines (which is why I really like sync) but this is driving me nuts. Any ideas as to how to get rid of Trovi on all of my systems at the same time?
Ive done adw on a few of them, tried deleting the firefox profile files (prefs.js), only thing appears to fix it for any length of time is remove the browsers completely (all user data too) via Revo, run MBAM or Adw, and then dont login to the browser sync. But thats not allowing the functionality I need.
