A little while back I transferred mail from an old PST file that I had backed up to a new one. However, somehow I managed to get the mail, but not the contact information. How do I get the contact information from the PST?

    Thanks!!

If you open them both at once you can drag across from one set of folders to the other. Hold Ctrl if you want to copy, otherwise the items will be moved.

In Outlook 2003 & 2007, are you using an explorer view that shows the contacts folder?

Yes, I am using Outlook 2003. I am not entirely sure what you mean by “Explorer view”. How do I open two PSTs at once?

        Thanks!!

By default, you start in Mail, which means that the folder tree will only show e-mail folders. If you switch to Folder List, you’ll see all folders, including Contacts.

You can open a second .pst file by selecting File | Open | Outlook Data File…
Later, when you’re done with it, right-click its top level folder and select Close “(name)” from the popup menu (the actual name will be listed between the quotes).
