I researching the web, it appears one can simply install the current version of Firefox onto the new computer (Windows 11 Pro) then Copy/Transfer/Paste your existing FF Profile file in place of  the new computer’s FF Profile file and this will transfer ALL settings/changes/bookmarks that were done in the old FF into the new FF.

Is it really that simple to make the new FF a replica of the old FF?

If I remember, when I went from a PC to a Mac, all I did was install both Google Chrome and Firefox and then log in to them with the ID and Password I had used for them on the PC.  I didn’t copy/paste anything to get these two browsers up and running.

Pls clarify.  Installed both where?  With what ID and Password?

Maybe I need to clarify that I have not registered my Firefox browser.

Tex, when you downloaded Firefox onto your computer, did you set up your Firefox account with an ID and Password?  Just like any other internet account you might have, eg, any online business, your bank, etc.  This way you an log out and then log back on. In the case of Firefox and Google, you don’t regularly log off.  I don’t mean to get too basic, but this is what I was talking about.

Thanks, and understand.   I do not/have not set up Accounts on Firefox/Google or the like.

Except for 2016 Office install (on which I am signed out), I  have also avoided MS so far.

Enter about:profiles in the Firefox browser on the old computer to find where your profile directory is located and copy it to where the Firefox browser on the new computer says it is.

You want the Root Directory in the default profile marked yes which has the file Prefs.js located in it. The directory should have files with the current date. Just click on (Open Folder) to the right. BTW, about:about lists all the about pages available.

      Hi Tex265:

See the Mozilla support article Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles if you want to manually copy and paste your current Firefox profile over to your new computer.

You can also enable Firefox Sync to back up your current Firefox profile to a remote server and then transfer that profile to your new computer by following the instructions in the Mozilla support article Back up and transfer your Firefox data to a new device (i.e., from the main Firefox menu at Help | Switching to a New Device).
