Hi, Hans – any ideas about this? I am transferring some data for upload to a web application, into text format (.csv). One of the fields which is transferred is a memo field. When I transfer the data, line returns are shown as a small rectangular box, however, they don’t show up in the original table in Access. I have had a look at the export spec, and there does not seem to be any way of locating these line breaks and replacing them with before I export?

    Cheers.

The squares are ASCII characters 13 and 10 – the Carriage Return/Line Feed pair. To change them to spaces in Access takes some work, since Access 97 does not have a Replace function in queries. It’s easier to do such things in Word or Excel.
But isn’t it easier to export to HTML?

We have been asked to supply in .csv, so that’s restricted me somewhat. Will ask in the Excel website how to get rid of them in .csv format, once in Excel.

        Thanks.
