    Folks,

I’m checking to see if anyone knows of a program that will help me track the training in my firm (who has had what training, when, etc.). I’m looking for open source freeware. I have found a couple of things out there, but they are web based, and I want something just to help me keep track of it, not an interactive program (i.e., where users sign up on the intranet, etc.). I can build a simple database for this, but thought before I started working on that I would see if anyone here knew of something already available.

    Thanks,
    Tia

How about a table in a Word document? Or a spreadsheet? What you want depends on the data entry, reporting, and access requirements.

I want to be able to manipulate the data fairly easily and not have to enter a lot of basic information more than once, so I think a relational database is best. Like I said, if it looks like no one has already constructed something like this, I will do one myself. But I just didn’t want to reinvent the wheel.

        Thanks,

Try posting your question in Access. someone there may very well have tried to do this before.

Very good Idea. doh But I don’t think I’m supposed to double post, so is there a way to just move the thread, or should I just go ahead and repost the question in the Access section?

If you repost in Access, I or another moderator/admin will lock this thread with a link to the new one. That way, visitors to both forums will see your question, but all further replies will be in Access.

OK, that’s what I’m going to do. Thanks.

To others reading this: please post all replies in the new thread in the Access forum, starting at post 491569. This thread is locked.
