I am so sorry if this isn’t where I should ask this question. I do not have a lot of luck trying to navigate this site or with any of my searches. I searched, jut now, for posts by Susan Bradley and came up empty. I just want to know if it is safe to install March’s Windows 10 updates. I see MS-DEFCON 3: and assume they should be installed after looking at the MS-DEFCON System but I have reservations. In the past, when it was safe, after not being safe for a while, I received a newsletter from Susan Bradley saying to install the updates. I did not get any such newsletter this time nor did I get any warning me not to install them when she was recommending that. Just this morning I got this newsletter, AskWoody PLUS – 18.12.0 – 2021-04-05 – Touchscreen misregisters point-and-clicks, so I am confused as to why I didn’t receive any about the installation of the March’s Windows updates. And no, they are not in my junk or trash folder. So what is happening and should I install the updates? I know it is unclear but has the BSOD problem been fixed? That is my major concern.

I think the problem , even with bitlocker, is that once you use the “trick” to make a new admin-level account, can you not *change*the*password* for the existing user account, and then log into it??

One basic troubleshooting or maintenance that I didn’t see in the article is clean the touch screen.  I have 20 recording booths that are used with volunteers to record daisy audio books for the blind.

So far in every instance with touch screen issues there were enough fingerprints or grease marks on the screen.

Either a cloth or microfiber cloth, with a screen cleaner or 70% isopropyl alcohol, will clean the surface and things start to work once again.

Looking at the screen with it turned off, at certain angles will show the prints or other grease marks.

Some touch screens just wonk out of calibration all the time. I did maintenance on two machines with touch screen monitors and I had to re-calibrate weekly, maybe poor power supply design?

Just because you don't know where you are going doesn't mean any road will get you there.
