• Totals in Crosstab Query (2000 SR-1)

Hi. I am new to this forum; I usually hang out in Excel. I have a large (>100,000 records) table I’m trying to do what in Excel would be a pivot table. I’m counting three different types of prescriptions and which pharmacist did them. I used a Crosstab query and I can get the counts for each type and pharmacist, but not the totals. How can I get the totals in Access? I’ve attached a sample Excel sheet to demonstrate; I hope it’s clear. Thanks for any and all suggestions!

Use the query wizard to create a second query that uses your crosstab as input. Place all fields from the crosstab into the new query. Now, add a field that simply combines the three count fields.
      Totals: [CountfieldA]+[CountfieldB]+[CountfieldC]
Let this new query be the basis for your report or form instead of your crosstab query. chatter

If you use the wizard to construct your crosstab, there is an option to add totals to the crosstab.
