In his latest OFFICE WATCH Woody says “4. TOP TIP: SAVE MESSAGES AS TEXT
It’s easy to save a message (or messages) as text in
Outlook or Outlook Express. Just click on the message(s),
then File | Save As, pick a type – formatted (HTML) or
plain text being common options – give the file a name, and
you’re done. If you pick many messages before clicking File
| Save As, all of the messages are placed in a single file.
You’ll be amazed at the difference in size between messages
saved in this manner, and their alter-egos stored in
Outlook’s native format. Besides, it’s easy to index and
search text files. Searching through Outlook’s native
databases is a pain.””
I have found that
1 with Outlook Express I cannot save multiple mails to a single file, the Save As is greyed out.
2 with Outlook, I can only save multiple files in a text file.
