I am organizing my TOC with just a Heading 1.

I want the TOC to alphabetize my headings rather than present them as they fall in the doc.

    Can that be done? confused

If you create an INDEX instead of a TOC then you will be able to alphabetize the entries. You’ll need to mark them first but this will do what you want.

You can also select the TOC & press Ctrl+Shift+F9, which will convert the TOC to plain text. Then you can alphabetize the list. However, you won’t be able to hyperlink to each heading, unless you manually create each cross-reference. At least, I don’t know of a way to do it.

      Yes you can do that.
TOC uses styles for each of the heading levels.
Accordingly, you just modify the style – “TOC 1” to be a capatilized font form
