    If you aren’t using MBAM Pro then go into services.msc – right click on MBAM and select Properties then use the dropdown to change its status to Disabled so that it doesn’t try to run in the background.

    Reboot to effect.

    It will still work when you start it via its icon.

      It’s really staggering the number of automatic services there are running in Windows. It often seems as if half the programs out there find it necessary to run some kind of service in the background so it can launch 3 seconds faster when you decide to run the program (which is what I assume this is for).
