I have just downloaded and installed TB 3.1.5 and imported my OE folders and settings. It set up my email from gmail ok and I am able to get email. Two things I am trying to do, one is to “move” messages into other folders which I need to create. Second is how can I use or transfer messages from OE folders to TB. Actually I don’t even see how to create new folders in TB. I wanted to replace OE, because eventually I will have to, but this doesn’t seem like a great idea. I am running XP SP3. Thanks

Right click on LOCAL FOLDERS and the option for a new folder is there.

I just highlight and drag the messages to the new folder. If you hold donw the CTRL key you can highlight more then one.

To get your OE messages go to TOOLS/Import

Using a remote client with gmail does not remove the mail from the server, you need to log into the web interface every now and then do clean out your gmail folders – assuming you want to do this..

That is a big assumption. The fact that it does not get deleted (except for SPAM) is one of its attractions for me.

I mentioned it because it differs from “normal” email servers, which do what the email client tells them.

Gmail does what you tell it to do when you configure POP forwarding.

Thanks John, but that still doesn’t really count as “do what the client tells it”. I set my client up to delete data after 7 days – gives me an extra level of protection if the machine crashes.
