I am absolutely livid and completely fed up with having Windows 10 stuffed down my throat.
Last night during the wee hours MS apparently automatically upgraded my main machine to Win 10 and this morning when I started it up there was a blue “welcome to windows 10” screen.
What ??? I have NEVER agreed to install Windows 10, ever. Every time I see a Win 10 prompt I “X” out of it.
In the lower left corner of the welcome screen there was a tiny bit of text that said “I am not (name)”
So I clicked on that and it took me to a screen where you accept or decline the licensing agreement.
I declined and it said it would revert back to my old version, which I did, and after a while it restarted same as always. I figured good, that would be the end of it. WRONG!
This afternoon I was doing some spreadsheet work, and suddenly without any warning the screen went blank and then it said “shutting down for windows upgrade.”
For at least 45 minutes all I had was a black screen with a progress circle in the middle. Then after restarting a couple of times, boom; back to “welcome to windows 10”.
So I repeated the entire uninstallation procedure again. Now I am totally sick of Win 10.
How many times do I need to say “NO THANKS”?
How do I go about getting rid of the “upgrade virus” that seems to be stuck in my machine? (Looks like it is going to automatically re-install about every 12 hours.)
If MS thinks that stuffing this OS down our throats without our knowledge or acceptance is the way to market it, they are sadly mistaken. And they are going to lose many many long time Windows customers.
At this point I am very sorry I accepted the upgrade reservation back when it first started.
Any help appreciated, and sorry for the rant, but I find this rotten scheme of Microsoft’s really frustrating.
