From time to time I receive the following message when attempting to send or receive mail, “the server connection has failed….
Error Number: 0x800CCC0E”. Visited the MS OEXP web site no clear solution, rechecked my mail account settings and set up all appears ok, running Norton System works 06′, visited this site as well……on more than one occasion the problem seems to miraculously cleared itself

This normally means that YOUR ISP server was not responding at THAT time, but did respond a few minutes later. This is known to happen a lot with different ISP’s. Some times the likes of Norton’s will slow things down and the server will time out.

        Thanks Dave,

that is what I thought as well, however, from time to time a window will pop up asking if I want to make outlook express my default mail service, makes me think that a software battle is taking place in the back ground. In all cases I check and re-check my account set up options in outlook express.

        Regards,
        Marty
