AskWoody_MVPMay 17, 2019 at 9:36 am #1656858I looked at that page https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4023057/update-to-windows-10-versions-1507-1511-1607-1703-1709-and-1803-for-up and kinda reading between the lines wonder if it is not aimed at the 1903 Upgrade where Microsoft is saying there can’t be any other drives [thumb drive, SD card, MicroSDXC card] attached at the time of installation and the 32GB drives won’t have enough room to do the Upgrade.
I got a good unannounced deal for $137.00 at Wal*Mart a couple years ago on a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Notebook and with only a 32GB SSD [actually 27GB formatted] that would have that issue so it is now running Linux Mint 19 with 20GB still free, has at least another 4 years life left.
Before you wonder "Am I doing things right," ask "Am I doing the right things?" -

AskWoody LoungerMay 17, 2019 at 12:08 pm #1659177I am set to metered connection and follow what this forum recommends for updates – but things went a little haywire last update and I got 4023057 on 5/10/19. I am on 1803. I want 1903 if it will help with the update issues and because, eventually, I have to update, but I want to decide when. It’s really annoying that MS actively works against their customers to block efforts to control our machines! I shouldn’t have to work this hard at it, I want to be a sheep and just go along, but I can’t!! Had way too many problems.
Should I de-install 4023057? I see it in control panel – any issues caused by removing this update? My thanks to everyone for your help on this forum.

KB4023057 is an application not an update. You can uninstall via apps & features with no harm.

AskWoody LoungerMay 18, 2019 at 6:49 pm #1683573I’m on a metered connection too (on 1803 Home), and 4023057 and 4499167 just got installed anyway. I didn’t know until I got the notice to reboot!
The only problem I’ve had with it so far is error messages stating that Windows didn’t shut down properly. This has also happened to me after previous cumulative updates and seems to go away by itself after a few reboots.

AskWoody PlusMay 17, 2019 at 1:53 pm #1659686Windows 10 Pro…1803 I am offered this on a regular basis and block it every time.
I was offered this for 6 times on my 1803 Pro (I am now on 1809 Pro).

AskWoody PlusSeptember 9, 2019 at 12:06 am #1944418How do I block or delete KB4023057, which blew past my metered connection and downloaded itself on to my computer and is awaiting a restart. I have windows 10 pro with branch readiness set at semi-annual channel. Hopefully I don’t have to let it install to delete it if MS will even let me do it since MS seems [determined] on sticking it on my computer whether I want it or not. It never show up on as awaiting download or in wushowhide.
