The a2k to 2007 Re-installation Delay

I have Access 2000 installed on my computer (a2k (9.0.6926) SP-3 Jet 4.0 SP-7)

I also have Access 2007 installed on same computer Microsoft Access 2007 (12.0.6535.5005) SP2 MSO (12.0.6562.5003)

I’m running Win XP SP3

I do all development in A2k then open the mdb in A2007 with 2000 format before I ship it to a customer

Depending on the application it takes approximately 5 to 20 minutes to switch/open a2k mdb in A2007

Service Pack 1 also addressed the tedious delay each time you switch to Access 2007 after using another version. The reinstallation delay is now 20 seconds, rather than the 3 – 5 minute delay.

All my Windows/Office updates have been made with Windows Update

How can I get the reinstallation delay to 20 seconds, rather than the 5 -20 minute delay?

What should I check to make sure Service Pack 1 was properly installed?

Service Pack 1 is an Office Service Pack.

In Access go to Office button…Access Options…. Resources.

You have SP2, amd Microsoft says here that:

“Because Office service packs are cumulative, you do not have to install Service Pack 1 before you install Service Pack 2. Service Pack 2 includes all of the fixes that were included in Service Pack 1.”
But I don’t why you still have the delay. I have done some searching and not found the answer.
