Thank you Susan and everyone involved for keeping this safe, sane, enjoyable website going.  It truly is as you say a “unique respite from the madness”.  I am very glad to have such a site.

Being 20 something in the 70's was far more fun than being 70 something in the insane 20's

I hope you all had a wonderful day. Although I’m Irish and still live here, my wife is American so we do celebrate Thanksgiving in our house. We invited our neighbours over. Busy but had a really nice evening.

I have a lighted Santa from 1948, and several plush lighted window wreaths from the 1950s.  A total of 11 in all.  A few years ago, I replaced the manual switches at the wall sockets with smart plugs.  I am always bemused that I have a combination of technologies spanning most of a century working together.  BTW, the ornaments are on their second wiring rebuild!  I am a little later than you, as I traditionally put them up on Black Friday while I am cowing in my house from the frenzied shopping mobs.

Help!  I have been trying  to renew my PLUS subscription for days but to no avail. I have put in my credit card number and type, the amount to add a year, but there is no place to click to confirm the purchase.  I have been with this newsletter from day one  and known as “Windows Secrets” with Brian Livingston as editor –and on through the purchase by the Chicago magazine publisher and then the purchase by Woody when he moved to Nashville  My subscription ends in 2 days and I’m at ropes end. Can anyone here tell me what I’m missing or what to do?
