TextSoap – How to remove old version

Using Window XP, Service pack 3
For many years I have been using a utility called TextSoap to scrub and clean up text, e.g. < and other symbols before each line in email, CRs in the text, etc. Recently my version 1.6 has stopped working and I receive a message to send the error to Microsoft. TextSoap is now sold by Magic Marker Software. I have emailed this company to find out how to remove version 1.6 before installing the new Classic version, but have had no reply. (I can not find an uninstall program for version 1.6.) What am I risking if I just install TextSoap Classic without uninstalling version 1.6?

Any comment on the new TextSoap Classic would be appreciated.

Hi Jim :

To reduce possible “problems” when switching “Versions”, I am an Advocate
of completely removing, IF possible, ALL of the “old” version prior to
downloading the “new” version . Since TextSoap appears NOT be in either
your “Add or Remove Programs” or “All Programs”, I recommend you
consider using the Freeware version of “Revo Uninstaller”, available at
http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html .

I did notice while doing a Google Search on “TextSoap”, that you
posted a Request for help on the Google “Discussion Group” .

Actually TextSoap is in my list of All Programs, but not in Add or Remove Programs. In All Programs there is only a shortcut to the exe file and a help file. No uninstall program. I looked in C:Program Filestextsoap and found the exe file, an uninstall log file, an ini file, a cnt file, and the help file. No uninstall file. I may try the “Revo Uninstaller”. However, I have found another program, Text Cleaner, that is a just a simple exe file and does the job nicely.

PS, as I was writing this I received an email from the TextSoap developer who suggested going to Add or Remove Programs and removing, but TextSoap is not listed. Stay tuned.
