The attached file contains a set of text numbers that was cut and pasted from an HTML Web page. I have tried everything I know of to convert them to numbers. The =Value() function returns #Value and the paste special values simply pastes the same text into the new cell! I would really appreciate some hlep here….

      Hi Robbie,

There’s a blank character (ASCII 160) at the start of each cell. To delete them, select and copy the first character of any cell with a value in it, then paste the copied character into the ‘Find what’ portion of the Replace dialogue box and leave the ‘Replace with’ box empty.

      Cheers

The cells start with a non-breaking space (character 160).
Select one of these spaces at the beginning of a cell value and copy it to the clipboard. Cancel the cell edit.
      Select the range (A1:S19)
      Select Edit | Replace (Ctrl+H)
Paste the non-breaking space into the Find What box; leave the Replace By box empty, and click Replace All.
      That should do it, hopefully.

Boy, you guys are fast…. The one thing I never thought to do was edit one of the cells directly!

Thank you both very very much….

        Robbie…
