I figured this would be as good a place to ask as any…

I havn’t delved into too much, but does anyone know of a text editor which displays ALL characters? Such as Carriage Returns, Spaces, etc? One which is somewhat easy to use? I.E. Is Functional…

Any help would be greatly appreciated..
    Thanks!

Oh, btw, I know word does this, i’m looking for something else, similar to notepad…

    Thanks again!

You may want to consider viewing the thread in here on EditPad. A number of text editor’s were mentioned. Several can show hidden characters.

I like HTML-Kit myself. It can create HTML files and Text files. Can show the Hidden characters, has a spell check and Thesaurus, can create Text File Templates, and has all sorts of goodies. Build 290 is free.

For my small text files it’s fast as I need. I also like the template capabilities.

In looking at this, i’d say it’s perfect.. We’re looking at text files which resemble corporate submissions from clients… HTML-Kit gives us the ability to connect to our FTP site to edit/view/download the necessary files!

        Thanks for the GREAT suggestion!

You are welcome. It has turned out to be quite a help for me based on several features. I truly believe the person(s) that created it deserve a Kudos from all of us that use it.

They’ve certainly got it from me.. and it’s already highly recommeneded in my book, (i’ve only been using it for an hour!)

Have you looked at the customization features? It seems the builders released the code to the public, and pretty much said “do what you want!” It’s a great concept, and RARE at that… You can build your own plugins, and submit them to the site for other’s benefit… Great GREat GREAT!!!

Glad you like it. The concept of the “code to the public” is called open source. Depending on the OS involved, it is really not rare at all.

Well… I guess it is for me.. I’m bravely going into coding land…

              Thanks again!
