Is there some way to set the margins of individual text boxes question
I’ve got the border style of my text boxes set to Solid but now the text, in this case names and fees are ‘touching’ the black borders. Ok on the names I can fudge it by setting the ControlSource to = ” ” & [StaffName], but this doesn’t work with the fees as they are set to Currency

I don’t think so, which is why I use a shade of grey for my control borders.

        Oh blast bummer
        Thanks for the response.
I suppose I’m spoilt by the things you can do in Word tables, and even Excel cells.
Back to the fudge approach then frown

You can set the BorderStyle property of the text box to Transparent, and place a slightly larger box (rectangle) behind the text box.

The font also seems to matter. Arial text has a tendency to “touch” the border of a text box; MS Sans Serif keeps a pixel away from it (mostly).

Thanks for suggestion but as I’ve got over a dozen reports to do, the prospect of having to place all those additional boxes frown
I’m interested to hear this about Arial “touching”, this could explain some other effects I’ve had reported to me thumbup

One other posibility would be to append a space the the front of the control, =” ” & [control] but this is probably nearly as bad as doing all the boxes frown

My original thought was to do that, but the comment from HansV about the different fonts got me thinking, so I tried a few others apart from Arial
Times New Roman, Tahoma and Verdana
and they all seem to be better in that they don’t touch the border as much
Also I’ve noticed that the output from the laser printer is a lot better than the inkjet I used originally.
