Testing to see what happens to a topic when its author marks the topic as “RESOLVED”. Some recent topics that have been marked as “RESOLVED” by their authors have seemingly simultaneously also been closed to new posts.

Marking this topic as “RESOLVED” with this reply to see if marking it as “RESOLVED” also closes the topic to all further replies.

EDIT TO ADD: Yes, it sure does. At least as of the date and time of this post. I’ll let management know about this so action can be taken if needed. This behavior might be due to updates to the software that helps run AskWoody.

Didn’t we have this discussion recently?

Yep, didn’t notice this test dates from the time of that discussion…

Periodic retesting of behavior of “RESOLVED” banner.

    • #2744314

OK, that posted the banner. Now, let’s see if upon changing the status to “No prefix needed, question is still unanswered” removes the banner AND unlocks the topic.

    • #2744315

Nope, it just removed the banner but left the topic closed.

Simply another test to see if the “Resolved” behavior has changed to what one would expect…if the Resolved tag is removed from a thread does that also open the thread back up to comments and replies from folks aside from Moderators and Managers?

    • #2758219

Now, let’s see if this post not only clears the “RESOLVED” tag but also opens the thread back up to comments from others besides me, Moderators, and Managers.

EDIT to add: It did indeed both clear the “RESOLVED” tag and open the thread back up to commentary from others besides Moderators, Managers and me. Therefore, this topic is now definitely “RESOLVED” in FULL!  🙂
